Where has time gone???

Where has time gone???  January is gone and a third of way into February. I joined some swaps over at My Fun Crafts http://myfuncrafts.ning.com/. Joined the charm dangle, Te Amo Mi Amore con todo mi corazone! (I love you my love with all my heart) dangle charm swap. For this swap I made the red rose, the big heart and the small purple rose heart out of polymer clay. I LOVE making these charm dangles....

The next swap I joined was the Pretty Pin swap. For this swap we were using valentines colors. I used a fuchsia polymer clay to make the rose bead. We had to place the 3 stickpins on some kind of card.
I thought this one screamed Valentine Day!

The last swap I joined for January was the Shabby Chic Flower Swap. We needed to make 3 flowers using valentine colors. These flower were to be blinged out. We were to place our flowers on a tag of some sort. My flowers were pretty big by the time I completed them.

Looking forward to Feburary's swaps!!! Have a GREAT day and thanks for stopping by!!!

The legend of the candy cane

According to legend there was a candy maker who wanted to invent a candy that was a witness to Christ.

First of all, he used a hard candy because Christ is the rock of ages. This hard candy was shaped so that it would resemble a "J" for Jesus or, turned upside down, a shepherd's staff. He made it white to represent the purity of Christ.

Finally a red stripe was added to represent the blood Christ shed for the sins of the world, and thinner red stripes for the stripes He received on our behalf when the Roman soldiers whipped Him. Sometimes a green stripe is added as a reminder that Jesus is a gift from God.

The flavor of the cane is peppermint, which is similar to hyssop. Hyssop is in the mint family and was used in the Old Testament for purification and sacrifice. Jesus is the pure Lamb of God, come to be a sacrifice for the sins of the world.

So, every time you see a candy cane, remember the message of the candy maker:

Jesus is the Christ!

Mary's Birthday Card

I made a card for my BFF Mary's birthday. She LOVED it and it is sitting on her dresser next to the box I made her a few months ago. She LOVED it so much, I think I am going to make another and sell it in my Artfire Store.http://www.artfire.com/users/diamonzone0808

Spring Mini Album

I signed up to make a Mini Spring Album with,  A Lil Scrap of Heaven. This is my very first mini album!!  It was to be a Spring album with pages, any where between 4"x4" to 8"x8". I chose right in the middle. I would make a 6x6" album. So as time was pasting, the longer I waited, I was scaring myself out of doing it. I wrote to the gal and told her I was going to bow out.   She wouldn't let me off the hook. So I decided to start. I cut the card board to 6x6", 4 pages. I found some spring like papers in a drawer. I covered them and decided which page would go where. I just took it page by page and in about 3 days I was done!! I mailed it off to her 2 days ago. I hope4 she LOVES it. I sure do!!

New Projects

April and May have been busy months. I was in a few swaps with Create, Share & Inspire! and one swap with A Lil Scrap of Heaven. The swaps with Create,Share & Inspire were stickpins. I got into 2 groups. I had to make 20 stickpin and at the last minute I decided to display my stickpins on a stamped and colored butterfly cards. So that was fun. I use to LOVE coloring when making cards. I still do love coloring, but my eyes are not what they use to be.

The next swap I was in with  Create, Share & Inspire! was a Charm Dangle. These can be used to dangle off a scrapbooks, a light or a mirror. You can dangle them from anywhere. I will be trading with 4 other ladies. I made 4 different charms. Here are a few of the charms I made.
